You may think that if you get an American Idol audition, you get to perform in front of the judges you see on TV: Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. But this is not true at all. I’ll show you what the process in an American Idol casting call is all about. Continue reading and I’ll give you all the nitty gritty details. Check out when the next reality show auditions will take place.

American Idol is already at season 9, that means 9 years already of American Idol. That means there will more auditions for American Idol coming up. When you watch an episode of American Idol about the auditions, they glamourize the whole thing and it doesn’t really work that way. The truth is that you will be in line for hours at a time. Also you don’t get to perform in front of Randy, Paula, or Simon. There will be no cameras unless they film you in line for a fraction of a second. What happens is that you have to past this milestone before you can see the celebrity judges you see on TV during an American Idol episode. Next the casting directors will pick you based on how you look and if you sing good.

They even choose people who are horrible on purpose so that they can show clips of that during an episode. The casting directors will definitely not choose you based on singing alone If you can sing really well, but aren’t predominantly Caucasian, have an interesting backstory, and you must be attractive. Or else the casting directors won’t choose you. This is not to sway you away from auditioning, this is just looking at the past people that casting directors have chosen. The casting directors only look at one thing: what gets the most viewers and gets the most ratings. Take the example of William Hung with “She Bangs.” The casting directors knew that they could make him a laughing stock and have people talk about him at the water cooler the next day. They didn’t care that they were making fun of someone, all they want is ratings.

A very tiny percentage of all candidates get to really perform in front of the judges you see on TV. I don’t tell you these things to discourage you, but instead to make you try harder to get it. If music is your thing and you want to be in a music video, you may want to look into vh1 casting calls. you can also get a Survivor casting call if that is your thing. The best piece of advice I can give you is to never give up. Good luck!

American Idol Performances That We All Remember

Approved by:

Sometimes, a performance is so wrong, it’s good. Just like the most popular movies we can be assured that we will always remember them.

The American Idol show enthusiasts truly realize what we have been referring to. It is not always the top that are noticed in your thoughts. You have the amazing Carrie Underwood types whom stand out and through, but on the other hand of the Idol, there are those we remember for… other things. Such as they can not sing.

Below, the top 10 worst (or dare I say best?) American Idol performances known:

10. Kellie Pickler: “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” — She did all three to the viewers with this song. Experts are still trying to figure out how she did it but the answer still stays unknown.

9. David Radford: “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” — David’s spasms across the stage and bizarre facial expressions made us cringe.

8. Lisa Wilson: “Come to My Window” — The previous Miss USA competitor should have focused on beauty.

7. Rodesia Eaves: “Daydream Believer” — Being the  forgettable person in the first season until she destroyed this Monkees song. Yelling and screaming off-key, she finished it (and herself) off with one extremely out-of-tune scream.

6. Ace Young: “Drops of Jupiter” — His star falling fast, Ace tried to resurrect himself using this one. Young’s blunder? His revealing of the “permanent scar tissue” on his chest through the matching lyrics. Gag.

5. Jasmine Trias: “It’s Raining Men” — Season Four’s remaining competitors were a pretty solid bunch, save for just one contestant from the islands.

4. Bobby Bennett: “Copacabana” — So oblivious was Bennett to what the idol judges wanted to hear on Idol that he thought it would be amazing to do probably the most overdone karaoke song ever for his performance.

3. Janay Castine: “Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!)” — Emerging as a dark horse in Season 4, Janay’s performance of this Blu Cantrell hit made America challenge her presence on the program. It absolutely was kinda frightening!

2. John Stevens: “Crocodile Rock” (below) — One of the biggest guilty pleasures in Idol history was watching John Stevens step out of his shell to perform this Elton John classic. The judges referred to it as the worst performance they had heard.

1. Juanita Barber: “What About the Children” — Juanita, a religious vocalist, destroyed this song regarding the young children during Season 2, then shot back at the apalled judges, asking Randy Jackson, “Do you know who I am? You better find out who I am.” What else could earn the #1 spot on this list?

When you see American Idol auditions on TV it seems like everyone gets to see Simon, Paula, and Randy, but this isn’t true. In this article, I’ll let you know the entire process it takes for the American Idol audition and tell you what you should expect. Keep on reading this article to find out. Here is a list of American Idol castings in your area or if you are interested also some MTV auditions. At the time that this article is published, American Idol will be at season 9 already. What that means is that you’ll see more auditions for American Idol. When you are watching American Idol on TV and they show the audition process in an episode or two, it doesn’t really capture what exactly goes on behind the curtains.

The reality is that you are in line with other candidates for hours and hours until you see the casting directors. You don’t even get a chance to audition in front of a camera or in front of celebrity judges. You’ll need to get past this part first and have the casting directors like you before you can see the celebrity judges. The casting directors will then choose you if you have the certain look and possess the skills to be an a American Idol. They even choose people who are horrible on purpose so that they can show clips of that during an episode. The casting directors will definitely not choose you based on singing alone If you don’t have that look: Caucasian, attractive, and with a story, you won’t make it. Even in the motor city you can get movie auditions in Michigan.

Being in the casting directing business, I am just telling you how it is and not trying to sway you. Don’t get discouraged though, you’ll just need to find the right audition to get to and start the process. If you love music and want to be in a music video, start off with a music video audition and if you have children, show them kid auditions. The best piece of advice I can give you is to never give up. Good luck!
