Beige. This shade is not very popular compared with black and yellow. So it is not quite often that we hear the topic about beige since very few fashionistas are intrigue or attracted to this shade. With its very passive shade, beige is conventionally considered as a conservative color. Naturally, beige, as well as the other hues closely related to it is sometimes seen as dull and quite boring. That is why in wearing colored custom dress shirts, beige should be avoided, especially for men. According to Esquire Fashion Director, Kim Johnson Gross, generally, this color for mens dress shirts or any other article put on around the face is not really a good color. Thus, this color rarely looks good on anybody.
However, beige dress shirts would be tolerable and becomes a little interesting if mix and match with the other strong, dominant and lively colors, like orange, green and royal blue. According to Jacci Howard Bear, such color palettes showcase the different shades of brown, including beige combined with other neutrals, and even red, green, pink and orange.
Beige is a very pale yellowish-cream color. However, there are still other shades that are similar with beige. For instance, there’s tan, though, tan is a bit darker compared to beige. There’s also camel, buff and oatmeal. Other similar shades of beige also include biscuit, cream, mushroom and ecru, among others . As per Bear, this is will make a calm neutral background, and when put on as a dress shirt, it will give a very calming effect and a soothing background to the wearer. Furthermore, a little doses of the shade of beige can be added to take apart two dark and very strong colors to make both stand out.
In addendum, Bear said that this color can take on some attributes of pink and yellow, especially when touched with those feminine shades. For a feminine and at the same time, conservative look, go for purple and pink with beige as background. Adding black to beige will create a tint of sophistication and strength, and with a touch of this color (beige), it will warm up a palette of cool and soothing blues without even overpowering this color of the sky. Beige that is paired with orange, brown, and green will create a very natural and down-to-earth effect.
