When the earth’s atmosphere actually starts to contain heat energy due to certain gases, this will cause our planet surface to get warmer than normal. This effect is termed the greenhouse effect. You won’t believe that this occurrence has been first documented in scientific journals for over a century already. The typical temperature of the earth is around 18 degrees Celsius less then what it is now. Humans have a very direct consequence to the greenhouse effect.

Who is really responsible?

There are numerous of environment organizations that pin the consequence on human activity for the increasing gasses that create thegreenhouse effect. However you will find scientists that disagree with this particular fact and to them, the effect of humans is minimal.

Which gasses bring about the greenhouse effect?

The most typical greenhouse gasses are methane, chlorofluorocarbons, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and water vapor.

Activities including burning wood, oil refineries, rubbish from landfills, coal, and non-renewable fuels can add up methane, co2, and nitrous oxide. Gasses have a direct impact towards the water vapor and acid rains can happen from this that is harmful to the population.

How much greenhouse gasses do we have today?
