The London Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that takes place on the Sunday and Monday of the late August Bank holiday. At the start of it’s birth, back in 1959, the Carnival has grown to become the second largest street gathering in the world, with its busiest ever weekend figures approaching some 2 million people.

Currently no one really knows the exact cause of global warming although it is a big part of what science is researching. Identifying the specific cause and retarding it’s growth are the target of diligent efforts. We can speculate however what may happen if global warming is not put to a stop and put to a stop very soon. While there are many people out there with outlandish stories of what is going to happen to the world, there is some underlying cause of concern with the issue of global warming that should not be ignored in the slightest bit.

First, we all need to understand just what exactly global warming is and that is the increase of the average temperature of the surface air and the temperatures of the oceans. The temperatures have slowing increased over the years showing that this may be a trend that could very well get out of hand one day. The primary source of the global warming problems is popularly thought, by scientific and non-scientific people, to be human behavior. However, there is also the need to take natural causes into consideration.

Let’s Get Educated

To insure that the gravity of global warming is understood by future generations education is  of tantamount importance. If we just continue to ignore the subject then our future generations will not truly understand the seriousness of it and just go on allowing this whole thing to get more and more out of control. Global warming is something that should be taught in every school starting in the grade school years. Even though the younger kids cannot understand all of the complexities of the situation, they can be taught a lot of the basics just to get them to understand age appropriate things regarding the situation.

Lessons can delve more deeply for students as they progress through school Projects and assignments on global warming is a great way to make sure that the kids are truly getting involved and that they are really thinking hard about this. Whether or not your school district is teaching a good bit on global warming, it is a good idea to make sure that you are talking about it at home. This will reinforce what is being learned at school about global warming and your child will see that this is truly something to take serious at all times.

In the past I have always though of mobile phone cameras with distain , and until recently I think I was well based in my opinions!  However recently I have changed my mind about the potential of phone cameras, this was due to the fact that on one ‘photography’ holiday I neglected to include my Camera.

Meaning that the phone camera had to step upto the mark so I get it a good test I wanted to get the best pictures that I could within the camera’s limitations.  From the trip these are some of the best tips I can give you, these are only my opinions please don’t take them as gospell

1)Knowing the cameras limitations

For example, I recently had a Nokia that had a rapid shutter speed but was fairly poor quality, conversely I had a Sony Erickson with an excellent 8mp camera but it was slow on the uptake, indeed  it is worth knowing that your camera has several seconds time lag between the shutter press and the real picture being taken so you can adjust your timing accordingly.

2)Adjust the settings as necessary.  Indeed modern phone cameras have many of the options that a relatively expensive digital camera has so you should use the settings in the same way you would with one of these cameras. The flash of the camera is often neglected but it is very important

3) Pay attention to non technical settings, indeed you have got to compensate for the overall poorer camera through good photography shots.  This includes finding interesting objects, unique situations framing points of reference.

Possibly the best advice I can give is to , shoot, shoot and shoot this is the only way the you are going to learn about the capabilities of your camera and how to get the best of it .

Although the prints you receive can never exactly match what you get on your screen due to the difference in how your eyes view an on-screen image and printed matter, you will get very close if your monitor is calibrated properly . There are many helpful resources to help you with this available online .

Last but not least, it is a good idea to get some sample prints done first before you make a large digital photo order or order poster prints . This way you spend a small amount of money to test the print quality before committing to a more expensive order .
