Cough nowadays is a very common and a widespread disease commonly found on children . Simple cough only lasts for 4 to 7 days or more and if it is it takes a month or more if it is a severe cough . Cough is cause by an infectious bacterium that is found in our body that we acquired from our environment and when we socialize to others who are possibly cough positive. Some coughs can also be just an allergic reaction to something. For example taking in medications that are not prescribed to you and feathers of our pets can also be one of the causes of cough. Cough can be classified according to its timing, length, timber and it’s characteristics. Duration can be classified into two; chronic or acute. Chronic cough usually last for 6 months or more while cough that lasts less than 6 months is classified as Acute. Timing can be either at night or day. Cough can be dry or very fertile, depending on the sputum that has been coughed out. Cough can be either viral or bacterial and sometimes is easily cured by a remedy for cough.
There are several differences between bacterium and virus. Here are some; cough caused by a virus are untreatable by antibiotics while an infectious disease caused by a bacterium is . Bacterium can reproduce as long as they want while virus cannot unless they inject themselves to other cell bodies in order to reproduce. Cough is caused by a bacteria when the sputum being coughed out is colored green while cough caused by virus coughed out a unclouded to whitish colored phlegm or sputum. Bacteria are self-sufficient while virus needs another living existence in order to live.
Antibodies in our system fight these foreign invaders that is the viruses. Some bacteria are helpful to human beings but most are not.
Aside from taking in medications prescribed by the doctors, you can also try a certain remedy for cough. Garlic is known to be remedy for cough. Drinking hot water with salt will also help. Increase fluid intake, this will help in softening the mucus membranes and helps the mucus becomes thin and so that you can cough the sputum out. Intake of water will also prevent you from being dehydrated. You will also have to avoid second-hand smoking both at home or in the workplace. Get enough rest. Eat healthy foods especially fruits and maintain your diet and do not forget to have a frequent hand washing, this will help eliminate microorganisms that are residing in the hands that might cause cough and even other diseases which we acquire from our sorroundings through cross-contamination.
Cough can possibly be attended by colds, sinusitis in which your nasal sinuses are being blocked because of the accumulation of bacteria on your sinuses , runny nose and sometimes can be accompanied by fever. In other countries, vaccines are already available that would help the immune system of an individual tough enough to fight these types of bacteria that causes cough.
We should always put into mind that our health is very precious and we should take care of it because no one else can, except us. Always bear in mind that preventing is better than curing!
