Do you feel the temperature of our earth is soaring up?  Any idea what is the major reason behind climate change?  Do you think citizens are to blame for their disregard with the environment?  Nobody can ignore the strange happenings anymore.  Scientists have long researched the side effects of how humans take care of environmental waste and encouraged the start of recycle programs.

How warm is the Earth today?

Our planet today is hotter than it was many years in the past.  Areas that were once uninhabited as a result of icy areas have recently become forests.  A good example would be in Greenland.  Every inch of Greenland has become forested since 450,000 to 800,000 years ago.

You won’t believe a few of these scary facts:

Scientists have reported how the earth experienced the hottest of climates during the year 1995-2006.  According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change of the United Nations, the earth’s temperature is .75°C warmer than it was during the 1850’s.  You may think that this is not a problem nonetheless it has devastating effects in the some other part of the globe.

Certain habitats will need a certain temperature for vegetation and animals to live.   Now as a result of increasing heat, there are some types of animals that started to migrate towards cooler areas to the north or south poles. Just think if these species are a source of food in certain countries, the availability would definitely be scarce plus the inhabitants of the area would need to source for other types of food.

British observers have sighted species of tropical fish in the cooler regions of the North Atlantic. It has been first observed since 1980’s. Fishermen have caught species of fish that’s faraway from its habitat range because of the change in climate.

A Glacier Monitoring Service based in Zurich noted how the volume of European glaciers has been halved starting the 1850’s until today.  Russian experts and scientists had also figured there were cases of permafrost in Mongolia and China throughout the year 2007.  This season, British scientists have reported a 2.2% increase in humidity for the last thirty years.

So what’s permanent effects?

The greenhouse effect is certainly affecting different varieties of species.  Climate temperatures are moving around at an inconsistent rate.  Not all species easily adapt to climate changes.  The sudden change can sometimes cause their death.
