When Hip Hop started it was a way for creative persons to communicate with the fans . They used this music to tell a story. The tale could be close to anything in particular , primarily their lives . Hip Hop artists weren’t called rappers, they were called “Emcee(M.C.).” This abbreviation has a lot of synonyms such as, Move The Crowd and Master Of Ceremonies. In the eyes of the Hip Hop culture, Emcee meant a lot more . Emcee were acknowledged through out there community. It was a talentthat everybody didn’t have . People who were able to create songs and make sense, made a career out of there talent .Hip Hop pioneers such as “Sugar Hill Gang,” paved they way for a lot of these current rappers . Anyone can make music, but a true artist creates musical art. These are the M.C’s that do more than just rap . If you listened to Hip Hop in the early 90’s and still do currently, you know the difference in the music. Rappers are just putting out anything with a good enough jingle to it. The music doesn’t mean anything anymore. It’s just a bunch of lyrics clustered on a beat , with intentions of devising it a hit single.
Some of Hip Hop’s greatest are still making good quality music ,that’s why they will always do better than those who don’t make quality music . A hit dance song doesn’t make you a M.C. It makes you a rapper with a hit song and possibly modified lyrical ability . You have to be able to continously create hit singles. Emcee’s such as 2pac and B.I.G will never fade away in Hip Hop .The music they created was always worth the money you spent .Fans are downloading music, because there favorite artist isn’t creating good music . You have to make the music that will convenience them that the record album is worth purchasing. If the only good song on your album is your single, then why buy the album . Fame can cause your favorite rapper to lose his drive for music. Since he has the wealth , the music he makes doesn’t have what it use to. They begin to slack on there lyrics as well as there choice of beats. They think that their true fans will buy the album in any event. Wrong, I don’t want to hear a lot of garbage lyrics on garbage instrumentals. They more Hip Hop leaves it’s roots, the more I dislike it.
