Chief on the survivalist list is shelter, food and a source of clean water.  One needs minimally a month or two’s supply of food for each family member because you never know how long you may have to stay trapped in your house.  Water and food storage equipment is a life or death need. This plus some basic first aid equipment will be to your profit. Emergency preparedness supplies are essential for survival.

How are you going to find food?  Owning a shotgun, rifle and or pistol would be resourceful.  Also you’ll need to get yourself a bow and a good supply of arrows and arrowheads just in case the electric is shut off for years. One might develop some basic skills that will help them become a decent marksman and have the ability to hit game. 

Getting a firearms permit starts by contacting the police department for instructions. Keep in mind that every state has different regulations which govern the decisions as to whether someone can legally own a handgun, rifle or shotgun. Once more, your local police department definitely will lead you in the right direction.

When you’re ready to buy a good supply of ammo, it may be in your best interest to get it with greenbacks and leave no trace to alarm authorities. Also, never purchase extra big supplies of ammo at one time from the same place.

Experiments revealed that 90% of people will steal if they discern they have a perceived need and can justify their behavior and feel they can go safely unexposed. This means anything of value you possess can be a lure to those without what they need under extreme occurrences. You’ll need to have good hiding places for your supplies that are exceptionally difficult for others to find. Get emergency food supplies and keep them is a safe location

If you are forced out of your shelter and need to live on the road for months, you’ll need a supply of clothes, shoes, and bare necessities. People who travel the lightest, travel the farthest. You may need to scram quick  in order to escape violence. When the food supplies in the Eastern cities dry up, mobs of gangs will descend on even the peaceful Amish in a frenzy.

The government will not protect you in such a situation and atrocities will be committed by both sides. Vigilantes as well as collateral damage to civilians will take place.  Make the effort to have a survival pack for you and your family for a disaster contingency.
