Take Better Photos With A DSLR Camera

DSLR cameras have brought pro quality photography equipment to average people. But it is important to remember that a pro quality camera is only one part of what it takes to take beautiful photographs. You also need to understand how to use your SLR camera and that can be quite a bit more complicated with a DSLR than with a simple point and type camera.

And I think far more important than knowing all the technical stuff is having an artistic eye. You need to develop a great sense of what will make a good photograph. A great example of this kind of “eye” can be seen when looking at these Original Pictures by one of my favorite artistic photographers.

From personal experience I can recommend a Canon Rebel XTi Camera. IIt is a great Digital SLR camera that has worked great for me without any real problems for approximately three years now. It is also rather cheap by the standards of professional quality cameras. But you should consider that those standards are quite high, it’s about $700 without a lens!

When you learn more about high quality cameras you will come to understand that the lens on the camera is very important. If you are used to point and click cameras then you are most likely used to thinking that the amount of megapixels is the most important thing about a camera but that is not the case at all.

With high quality cameras, the lens is what makes the biggest difference in the quality of your pictures. Really the subject of lenses is too deep for me to cover here, I simply want to make sure you are aware of how important they are and that if you want to get really serious about photography you will need to look into the topic more deeply.

Like with any other skill, you will only become a master photographer with lots of study and practice. You have to read all about taking pictures and then you will need to take tons of photos experiencing for yourself all of what you have learned.
