What To Do With Used Tires

If you have used tires and you do not know what to do with them, it is important to find a way to reuse or recycle your them to lessen the amount of garbage or trash that people dispose in the dumpsites, landfills and junk yards, which are already filled with plenty of other types of waste.

Probably the best way to reuse your used tires is to use them as a spare (or multiple spares) for your car after you buy new tires. Obviously there has to still be some tread on the used tire for it to be usable. If you don’t want to do that, you could easily sell them online or at a yard sale.

Another good way to get rid of used tires is to take them to a drop off center to be recycled. Tire manufacturers encourage their customers to do this. There are specified areas at your local recycling center or you can simply take them to a local car parts store and they will dispose of them properly.

If you are creative and imaginative enough, you can repurpose your used tires. Repurposing means you will find another purpose or use for your old tires. One great example is to make tire swings out of used tires. Just tie the two loops of a thick rope to the tire and hang the rope on a tree branch. Make sure that the branch is strong enough to support the weight of a child or whoever will be sitting in the tire swing. Paint it to make it look more interesting.
Finally, you can make a planter. Just fill a tire with soil and attach some sort of bottom if you’d like and plant flowers or something else in them and put it in your garden or just in your yard as a decoration.
