On entering the premises, you straight away become aware of the strange character of the place. The illumination is subdued, and incense fills the air. Music of an indeterminate sort plays delicately in the background.  As you walk into the large hidden room, you notice it is filled with esoteric types of art, several cats, and has a circular table dominating the room. Sitting at the table is a woman, age hard to determine. Her long hair is covered with a multi colored scarf. Many rings decorate her hands. You notice her accent is foreign sounding. You also become aware of the crystal ball located prominently on the round table in front.

Is this an image that appears similar to what you might have conjured up? No doubt, this is the usual scenario we have of a Fortune Teller. In fact, you can usually experience the stereotype, or the opposite. I’ve seen many fortunetellers giving psychic readings from their homes, in a very conventional venue. I’ve also had psychic readings at costume balls, Pagan Pride day celebrations at city parks, and even sitting at the kitchen table of a friend’s home. Even so, when you book an appointment for a psychic reading with someone you’ve not met before, it can be true your expectations will be unexpected. You may possibly experience anything along the scale from humdrum to extreme theatrics. 

Without doubt, there is no average psychic presenting physic readings. Within the psychic group of people, there are a variety of psychic types. You can have your palm read, readings by numbers, have an l Ching reading, a Tarot card reading, a medium reading, a basic reading, plus many more lesser-known methods of having your fortune told. It’s conceiveable that you could get a reading based on tea leaves!.

Outside the style of reading you might get, you also have your basic con artist and scam artists camouflaged as real psychics, the novice psychic, the psychic reader who uses just their inner vision, and finally the psychic who is well and truly capable of of telling you a few things nobody else could know. That’s your option as to who you wish, whether you decide on a psychic dependent on recommendation or a random choice out of the local yellow pages. Whoever you decide to choose, there will be a fun element. And of most importance, don’t waste hard earned money on the fakes and charletans, of which the fortune telling trade has quite a few.

But don’t expect big changes to take place in your life, depending on what one psychic reader might predict. In the final analysis, it’s not really important precisely where the readings takes place, and the type who does it. Psychic readers vary much in appearance, and their place of work varies far and wide too. A psychic who gives you a reading from their kitchen table may possibly be as good, and possibly considerably better than the one who is clichéd. Even as first impressions are valuable, don’t rush to conclusions, based only on this.
